The recipient of the award is decided by members of the MTC present on the day.  The 2016 - FS11 - year Garvey Award went to Stuart Hakes of FIC (UK) Ltd for his presentation titled “SOLUTIONS TO PRACTICAL PROBLEMS HOW TO EXTEND LIFE AND IMPROVE MELTING

This year’s conference is truly international, Dr. Yakup Bayram, PaneraTech and Joe McKintosh, Fosbel from the USA are first time visitors. Together with Tunc Goruney from Sisecam, Turkey. Closer to home Richard Stormont from Electroglass will be attending the conference for the first time and presenting an interesting paper relating to the important role of electricity in glass forming and conditioning.
